Cool new amp gadget. I must admit I'm getting dangerously interested,
except that it's almost as bulky as the amp itself. Anyone here try one
yet?

So the gizmo changes an "infinite baffle" speaker box to a bass reflex
speaker box, without taking into account any parameters about the
speaker? Great. Sounds cosmetic. Sure to attract the
honky-tonk-bedonk-bedonks.

The reviews for it are very good. I'd be interested in trying it, but
at $300, it's way overpriced.

The are a couple on ebay. In particular the 24" model at $129 with no
bids yet.

Tried it out a few years ago at the NAMM show. It does what it claims ,
the amps they put on there did sound fuller/bigger /fatter. Ithe tone
difference was evident when the amp was standing on its own. The size
of the unit , however is another matter altogether.

Yeah, the size of the thing is prohibitive when you don't have a large
vehicle for moving gear around. It's also kind of an awkward shape.
I've got the packing scheme down for my car, and there's no way I could
fit one of these things in, but it still seems like a cool idea, I'd
love to hear how my Trace Elliot Bonneville would sound through it.

So, it looks like an amp stand that converts your Open back into a
Closed-Back Amp?

Not exactly, its sort of like a folded horn thing that takes the sound
that comes off the back and redirects it to the front. I saw Rick
Holdstrom using one with a tweed Fender Pro (15" speaker), and thought
it very effective.
