There are still seats available for Sheryl Bailey's live, on-line,
interactive Master Class tonight. During "Melodic Minor Madness",
Sheryl will show you how to expand your chordal palate and melodic
lines by converting to min/ma7 voicings from the Jazz Melodic Minor
scale. For a more detailed description of tonight's class and to
enroll, please visit www.mikesmasterclasses.com

Has anyone taken one of these Master Classes? Can you comment on how
effective this medium is?

I've taken Steve Herberman's two classes so far. I think it works
well. He sends out printed material beforehand so you can get familiar
with the examples, but the classes add to or vary from the examples as
questions arise from the students or the moderator. I will take as many
as I can afford. I have already felt his concepts getting into my own
playing. I hope to take one a month or 6 weeks or so.

Lee,
It's excellent - I've taken Jack Wilkins class, and I'm on for Sheryl
Bailey's tonight. I particularly love it because I like taking a lesson
from a master to get insight to how they think, and it'd be
prohibitively expensive to travel to other states to study with these
people. Try it, you'll like it!

Though there will be exceptions, it is always worth taking a master
class. You will get more out of some than others (obviously). I have
been to classes with Pat Martino, Howard Roberts, Lenny Breau, and Joe
Pass and they were great. So go!
