#1: HiloHaole, know of websites with blues artist interviews....?

Posted on 2006-02-23 01:02:22 by Nate in the Blues Room

HiloHaole,
How goes it?
I am wondering if you know of any places on the internet that have
audio files of interviews with blues artists?

Two I have found so far are:

<a href="http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/programs/cominhome/ch_interviews.asp" target="_blank"> http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/programs/cominhome/ch_inte rviews.asp</a>

<a href="http://www.yearoftheblues.org/radio/index.asp" target="_blank">http://www.yearoftheblues.org/radio/index.asp</a>

The later is a fantastic site full of info, history, audio clips,
interviews and much, much more!! Please be sure to check it out if you
love blues!!!!!

Cheers,
Nate

Hi Nate,

Your question and your links got me interested and I searched the Internet.
Here
is a few that I found. Since the link didn't change as I clicked on the
frames on some of the
webpages, you'll probably have to search the webpages for the link to the
interviews.
<a href="http://www.amroutes.com/interview.html" target="_blank">http://www.amroutes.com/interview.html</a>

<a href="http://www.wmwv.com/BluzVuz.htm" target="_blank">http://www.wmwv.com/BluzVuz.htm</a>

<a href="http://www.93xrt.com/artists/audio/" target="_blank">http://www.93xrt.com/artists/audio/</a> ( Buddy Guy interview on the webpage)

<a href="http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/2003/honkytonks/" target="_blank"> http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/2003/honkytonks /</a> (It has

'Goin Back to Sweet Memphis' ; Etta Baker, Piedmont Blues Legend; The Rise
of the Blues)

Sorry that I didn't find more.

Cheers HiloHaole,
Heres another good site that I've found, will add more as I find
them...

The Blues=99 anchors a multi-media celebration that raises awareness of
the blues and its contribution to American culture and music worldwide.

Under the guiding vision of Executive Producer Martin Scorsese, seven
directors will explore the blues through their own personal styles and
perspectives. The films in the series are motivated by a central theme:
how the blues evolved from parochial folk tunes to a universal
language.

Classic quote (I might use more frequently now) that I saw on the
website:
&quot;Blues are the roots, everything else is the fruits&quot; Willie Dixon
