#1: Moody Blues and groupies

Posted on 2005-03-21 05:59:17 by tysteel43

Hi,

I know that the Moody Blues have pretty much always been a band with a
clean cut image, and I suppose that's why a lot of publications such as
rollingstone don't care about them. There really is no scandal with
these guys. I think that of all the band members, this is
especially true of Justin & John, who are regarded by many fans as
being almost angelic and pristine in nature. I have heard some rumors
about Graeme and how he uses crude language and has made some vulgar
sexual advances toward women while he's drunk, but I've never really
heard anything negative about the J's.

Something that I find interesting is that there are a lot of female
fans or groupies that follow these guys all around the country. They
follow them from hotel to hotel. In fact, a lot of these fans post on
these kind of chat sites. Always reminding us how much they know this
particular band member and giving us the impression that they are
really tight.

I'm going to ask some honest questions, and I'm kind of interested in
this topic. Maybe I'm just bored and want to know. If you can't post
your answer to the ng, then email me your response. My question is,
especially to one who actually has been to a lot of shows and has seen
what goes on, do you think that Justin & John actually still have sex
with these groupies? Are you someone who has had sex with them?

I know that it sounds like a stupid question, "do the j's actually have
sex with groupies", but I think it's a valid question considering their
reputations- especially John's persona of being a "born again"
christian. That illusion would be shattered if John was exposed as a
guy who cheats on his wife with these groupies. And Justin? I thought
he was scared of a lot of these fans so wouldn't it be safe to assume
that he'd be very cautious about choosing which fan to have sex with?
I'm sure there are things to consider such as, "what happens if I get
this woman pregnant...I'll get sued!" and etc? I would think that
Justin would be paranoid about the groupies and if they'd sue him if he
gets them pregnant or if he contracts a venereal disease, and I'd guess
that he'd stay away from them? I really don't see too many fans at
these kind of sites who pretend like they know Justin on an intimate
level, but of course you have a few fans who come out and say they are
tight with John. So that makes me assume that Justin doesn't mess
around with the groupies anymore but John still indulges himself? If
you are someone in the "know", would that be a correct observation, or
is this just a case where Justin's ladies don't kiss and tell?

Also, here is a hypothetical, fantasy question for you. If you had a
chance to spend a night with either Justin or John, and if one of them
got you pregnant, would you sue them for child support? Or would you
be happy just to have their baby and not make a big fuss about it?
Would you ever let them know that you are the mother of their children
and see how they feel about it(assuming that they don't know they
impregnated you) or would you keep it a secret and not tell a soul?

thanks,
Ty Steel

I didn't read any farther than this.

No.

They don't.

How do I know?

I don't.

Just call it a hunch.

Ty, even if a fan did have sex with one of the Jays, why would you
think they would broadcast it on a newsgroup, or tell you privately?

There may have been some activity with fans with the Jays back in the
early days -- nobody knows who wasn't actually a part of it. All I
know is that nobody has ever made a public story out of it, either
because it didn't happen, or out of respect to the band members.

I did meet a real "groupie" back in '81 who claimed to have had sex
with Graeme (and other rock stars, including Bowie) and Patrick several
times. I don't now if it was true. She said her ultimate goal was to
get Mick. She knew my roommate at the time, and we went to see Asia in
NJ, and we met the roadies in a bar after the show, and we met the band
at a later date. She was insanely jealous of any attention anyone gave
me or my roommate and threatened to beat me up that night. I've never
seen her again, thankfully. She was not a well person at all! My
roommate actually started a relationship with Carl Palmer's roadie
(Andy was his name) for quite awhile and he invited her to stay with
him in England. It didn't last though.

LOL Mick! Ty, you can't honestly believe that anyone would share such
personal information with you, on this ng or in email. It's been slow
so I guess you feel that it's time for you to crawl out from under your
rock and stir the pot again. We've seen it too many times before.
Yawn.

> Hi,

Hi back Ty,

I can't help you with the Moodies but, if you're looking for stories about
Rockers and Groupies...the best I've read came from Bev Bevans book about
ELO. I really enjoyed the read. He's an excellent story teller.

Chuck Negron , of 3 Dog Night, tells about the personal hazards of groupie
over indulgence. I have to wonder if he's bragging. :)

Have a good day!

I doubt that any of the Moodies are gay, Neptune. I think we would've
heard about it now.

To digress, I was wondering if you have a seen a movie called "Prozac
Nation"? I was channel surfing a couple of Saturdays back and came
across this movie. I had never seen it before till a couple of weeks
back, but it was basically the story of a young woman (played by
Christina Ricci) who is mentally ill and is in some need of mental
help. Since you seem to have an acute interest in mental health
facilities, anti-depressants, and high fiber diets, I'd imagine that a
movie like this would be on your "must watch" list. Have you seen the
movie, and what did you think of it? What is your favorite part of the
movie? My favorite part? To be honest, I liked to the part in the
beginning where she is sitting on the bed naked. She is such a petite
little thing, but she does have a smokin' little bod.

thanks,
Ty Steel

No, didn't see it but now I think I will rent it. I'll let you know

commercial with "Bob, Frank, Jack" as "The Regulars"?

OMG! That commercial is so funny, Nep. You don't think they're
advertising a product in the beginning and then the voiceover gives it
away. I always think of you when I see Metamucil commercials. And Blue
Duet commercials. And Whirlpool. And Kenmore. And...well, you get the
message.

I honestly can't remember her name. I remember her face well enough,

maybe I needed to forget.

But you must know I was talking about Mick Jagger as her ultimate goal!
