#1: The BLooZ is obviously petering out, thank the gods!!

Posted on 2005-08-16 14:21:57 by krickstahlschwanz

Some years ago when I first starting thrilling you all and posting to
this group there used to be many more postings everyday than there are
now.
Do you think interest is finally waning in this archaic has-been genre
of mediocre "music" that you call BLooZ?
Maybe all those live bands of forty-odd year old white men bashing out
over-amplified rock band versions of Sweet Home Chicago and Mustang
Sally have finally killed the bastard.

Maybe there's a whole new generation of people playing tunes who only
see the BLooZ as it really is nowadays- a fossil of a once grand and
original idea, dreamt up by young men at least two generations ago
anxious to do something new and fresh. Which it was. Now all contempory
BLooZ is an effete embarrassment to all thinking musicians and a
bolthole for the untalented, the non-creative and un-educated
pseudo-musician in the form of a bedroom-strat-strummer to hide away
in.

Hide away?
We all know a song about that, don't we children?
Maybe that's what Freddie King was thinking about when he "wrote"
that moderately interesting though still banal little riff.

I don't think that's it. Usenet seems to be a backwater of the
Internet now. Despite the vastly superior ease of using newsgroups,
it seems that Web-based discussion forums are much more popular and
active than traditional Usenet newsgroups. I've noticed this in
numerous newsgroups for widely different interests. It's sad I think.

Despite your regularly posted idiotic opinions Krick, the Blues is
still a vibrant, active musical idiom. There is something very basic
about good Blues that touches a basic, human feeling.

Why do you hang out here if you hate the "BLooZ" so much?
