I got to see Tom Lippincott with Dave Liebman live last night at Makor
on NYC.
What a treat! Tom was just great. Playing super-tastefully and using
effects to create some incredible sounds. Liebman was clearly digging
his playing as well.
What can I say about Dave Liebman? I think everyone should see him live
at least once a year. Besides the absolute mastery of music and jazz,
it's inspiring to see the amount of emotion he puts into each note.
I'll be writing a detailed review for Jazz Improv magazine, but I
wanted to let you know in case you get an opportunity to see Tom
Lippincott live - don't miss it.
I hope to jam with Tom before he leaves NY...

That must have been a gas. I think if Tom ever decides to move north he'll
be playing with guys like Liebman on a regular basis. ....joe
