Without really going into a whole search thing. What hit songs did Moody
Blues have? I am partial to Rush so bear with me for not knowing MB's
music.

I imagine one can say the songs most known to the general public would
be thought of as 'hits'... in that train of thought, the set list for
the Greatest Hits cd would be this...
1. Your Wildest Dreams
2. Voice
3. Gemini Dream
4. Story in Your Eyes
5. Tuesday Afternoon (Forever Afternoon)
6. Isn't Life Strange
7. Nights in White Satin
8. I Know You're Out There Somewhere

For actual placement on any 'hits' charts, that I wouldn't know. I

Don't forget "Legend Of A Mind" which is also commonly referred to as
"Timothy Leary's Dead."

I don't think "Legend of a Mind" would be considered a hit, though. We
know it well, but it wouldn't be on a "Greatest Hits" album.
I don't generally collect those. I have a couple of them, and honestly
don't remember this song being included although I haven't looked at
them in so long, I might be wrong.

You're correct, Sue... LOAM isn't usually included in the
'hits', some of the extended collections mostly add it. I don't think
it falls in the 'casual fans' list of songs, huh?

They had very few songs I would call hits, but if you're talking about
songs that got some air play, I definitely think you have to consider LOAM
and maybe even Sitting at the Wheel.

Here in the UK "Driftwood" and "Lovely to See You" get a lot of airplay.

Rock and Roll over your actually made the top 40, thanks to its inclusion in
the soundtrack of Karate Kid II.
Billboard or Records and Radio is the place to check this for an exact
accounting.

They were always more of an album, rather than a singles, band, and
when I was a teen and in my very early twenties, they were an FM
station band where they received a great deal of airplay, as compared
to showing up on "Top 40 Radio," AM.
What I always remember most is the airplay which was given (on FM) to
"Seventh Sojourn." I think they must have played that entire album,
and it's why I bought it back then; all of the songs were very familiar
to me.
Most especially played were "You and Me" (to this day, my favorite of
their songs), "The Land of Make Believe," and "For My Lady," (my
favorite Ray song), as well as the more popular "I'm Just a Singer (in
a Rock and Roll Band)," which even now has never been one of my
favorites of John's. But it would come the closest to having been a
hit back then.
And it's funny to think that while NIWS was so popular in England and
thereabouts, "Tuesday Afternoon" did better in the U.S. (I prefer it,
too, actually.)

Gads, the memories! Ft. Lauderdale had a laid back FM staion,
WSHE that played many entire albums. SS was the 1st record I actually
wore out. Played it all the time. Wore out a cassette too. The CD
is lasting much longer. I hope. :)

I heard from Nep ttoday and he told me that in Pennsylvania that there
is a part of their Turnpike where it feels neat to play LOAM on the car

I've been reading some of yer posts, so yer saying you have never been

I think Frisk's old web site that I believe is still being managed by
Wizard might be of tremendous help to you. The junk here in the last
many years has been more of personal stuff not really too the Moody's
stuff like back in the mid 90's.
Oh you might join some of the newsgroups just to see what kind of FANS
are out there but again for 'info'???? If yer any kind of intelligent
sort, you'll quickly deduce who is who! I'm known as "Blue Jay" or
"Moody" for at least the last 14 years......

Negative.. never been to any Moody Blues concerts.
If you must know, I typed in a search for Moody because my old high
school baseball team is the Moody Trojans. They were bidding for the
state high school semi-championship game. I figured I would check just
to see if they had a newsgroup set up for them and anything with Moody
was spat out so being the curious kind I opened up this group and voila,
here I am.
I listen to mostly classic rock so you can understand my curiosity.
I can't say I am a fan of the Moody Blues but I do enjoy the interaction
with people even if it just the net.

No, Moody is the high school. Our mascot is the Trojan. This school has
a rich tradition of putting out a great baseball team and has a strong
fan base from the community. Sadly, they were knocked out by a more
talented school from Houston this year in the semi-finals.
