I know, law is such a heavily misused thing in the US. Not only about women.
We have also some strange things around law here - i remember a case, when
(in the pre-internet times) a BBS sysop named his system "Rainbox", because
he lived in a town named "Regensburg" (that means "rain castle" or
something like that).
In this times, there was a company developing computer games, it's name was
"Rainbow Arts". Then a lawyer wrote to the BBS guy a dissuasion, he should
change the name of the BBS, because someone could mess "Rainbox" up with
"Rainbow Arts". Additionally, the guy should pay the lawyers bill, and they
are depending on the amount involved in the case. Hey - the lawyer just
wrote a single letter, and a bill of several thousand bucks...
The same happens now with all the copyright stuff - any kid had some song
lyrics from his favoured popstar on his website, actually a profit for that
starlet - but the lawyers wrote a dissuasion with a bill: US$ 3600!
What's a lawyer on the oceans bottom? A good beginning!
