BLooZ jams?! Bars full of people clanging
away at a twelve in A major, overamplified and under skilled,
uninspired blokes honking away on grating harmonicas,
bored bass players and drummers sentenced to an all night
shuffle...dreadful!!! Why are they so popular?
I suggest that this is because to play any music at all, apart
from BLooZ, it requires some rehearsal and formulation. These
are the most difficult aspects of making music. Simply playing
your instrument isn't. The BLooZ, as popularly "performed" these
days, is always the same tune, or least the same harmony. That
why something as repetitive and hackneyed as "the BLooZ" is so
popular with all the amateur bedroom stratocaster strummers and
therefore jam nights for that genre are legion. It saves having
to learn all those difficult chords and arrangements.
If jazz, garage, country, hip-hop, pop, punk, surf, "classical", soul,
folk, indi,
metal et cetera, et cetera were as easy to make a stab at, then
there would be jams of all complexions.
Also, in my experience of jam nights, the music is the least
important feature. The hardware is more so. I've heard people go
on -&- on about six-string devil amps, tin sandwich mics and FX pedals
and never discuss how to play the actual right notes, in the right
order.
If the BLooZ are so difficult & special, why can every 16 year old
six-string devil holder in the world "do" a solo over a twelve bar?

because it is a special way for a 16 year old to connect that he is "worth"
it and can start to feel himself on his way to his very own special way of
perceiving "success .. What is success .. it is like asking .. what does
"wealth" mean to you ? True meanings behind the true meaning whereby the
shadfows are not calling the shots but the experince we all receive through
our own perceivement at the time ..
Thinking through the heart that leads to letting mind chatter go and
bringing through a collective set of pieces of one's self that spring open
the hearts of others .. This leads to an average small 16 year old to feel
good through the collectives of another's simple sounding tune that has for
a long time kicked off "higher self esteem" and being able to override the
everyday "expectations other people put on us as children <g>
Me??
My songs are about my experiences and they come from the heart, some from
the mind .. and now it's coming more through soul ..<G.>
Experince helps unleash .. but give the simple key notes it's fair kutos
...hey?!!
Besides .. all musics has a purpose ..:-)
